Unauthorised Credit Card Withdrawals
- Hits: 928
The complainant noticed unauthorised withdrawals on her credit card, seemingly at the hands of her son. She sought to reverse some of the transactions. The office found that she had provided her son with her credit card details and as such had to bear some of the loss.
However, it was found not to be fair and reasonable for the bank to hold the complainant liable for amounts exceeding her credit limit and it was advised to write off these amounts, as the limit was increased contrary to the provisions of the National Credit Act (NCA).
